REHIS ELEMENTARY FOOD HYGIENE (6 hours minimum)

The Elementary Food Hygiene course is designed for all food workers in the food industry to provide a basic level of knowledge.

The Elementary Food Hygiene course has been independently rated on the Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework (SCQF) at Level 5 with 1 credit.

An Introduction to Food Hygiene

Bacteria and their characteristics

The incidence of Food poisoning and its prevention

Personal Hygiene and Working Habits of the Food Handler

The Working Environment

Common Food Pests and their control

Cleaning practices

HACCP
